First Aid Kits in Fairview

Friday Dec 18, 2009

This is dedicated to all those who donated money for First Aid Kits in Fairview….it was a blessing

We were able to give out 90 kits to the most needy people in the area, the First Aid Kits included things like;

Disinfectant

General medicine like paracetamol, bandages and bandages

Cough and cold  Medicines

Soap and  toothpaste

Vitamens

Bleach

Washing Powder and more…..

They were collected and packed by a selfless couple who live in Fairview called Ate Edit and Koya Timmy, they own a pharmacy in Fairview and were affected dramatically by the flood, and were anxious to do almost ANYTHING to help us help their neighbours in Fairview, so with this lovely couple we worked closely with. They donated time and resources to distribute the bulk of aid coming into Fairview. We distributed from their pharmacy and goods were dropped off at their address……..so many thanks to them for their sacrifice and help (and all of the Jollibee that they fed the team with!!)

We had the distinct pleasure of taking all of the kids to Fairview on the day we gave out the extra first aid kits, we wanted them to see first hand a relief operation, they saw it!! We had to distribute from a barred area (everywhere is barred in Manila) so the area was secure although the door was left open as we were not expecting a rough crowd. The people were called and the kits were given by the kids and James. We left the people up to a Pastor and Edit and Timmy, they knew who really needed the goods too!

It was interesting to see reactions and faces…..

Koya Timmy and Ate Edit with the kits

The kids and the kits, almost buried in them!

The people waiting outside the gates

Pst Annie, James and Esther (hmmm) organising things. Pst Annie was amazing she coordinated the whole thing and liased between us and the crowd and dealt with attitudes in a respectful Godly manner. I was in awe of her maturity and diplomacy. Go Pst Annie!!!

A happy lady and Troup kids

Giving out the kits! What a blessing to be a blessing!

Even when James came down with severe gastro and food poisoning after this we still had a good day and even tried the Philipino national pastime Karaoke……and LOVED IT!!!!

Know that your money was well spent and appreciated dear ones!!
